Neon Green Palau Nepthea (Nepthea sp.)

The Neon Green Palau Nepthea is a hardy coral.  They look like a little tree with fat branches and are green in color.  The coloring can range from bright almost neon green to a darker green. The branches of this coral will be covered in short polyps a little lighter in color than the base which, at times, can make it look almost “furry”.   Considered the “god” of nepthea’s and supposedly extinct in the wild, their common names are Tree Leather and Cauliflower Corals.  They grow to 1″ to 2″ and their food source comes from the micro plankton and other filtered foods that the coral traps in its tentacles during the ocean waves and currents.
